HOTEL TULBINGERKOGEL ****

Welcome im Hotel Tulbingerkogel

Feel at ease... between two worlds!

Tow different worlds - the wilderness of Nature and the civilisation of the city - coalesce at the Mountain hotel Tulbingerkogel, where the Bläuel family welcome their guests in the true tradition of an easy-going country lifestyle.

Just eight kilometres from Vienna, and yet in the depths of the Vienna Woods, there is a hilltop called Tulbingerkogel. More than a century ago, Adalbert Stifter, the celebrated Austrian writer and champion of "poetic realism", sang the praises of the observation tower here, from which he could see the windows of Göttweig Abbey gleaming in the distance.

About 1930, a hotel for discerning guests was constructed atop this gently sloping hill. Some 20 years later, in 1951, the hotel was purchased by the Bläuel family. Over the course of the years, the Bläuels succeeded in transforming this little hilltop hotel into an elegant country hotel with a gourmet restaurant and a reputation far beyond the confines of Austria.

At the centre of the action - yet far from the madding crowd.
